Money Heist season five took as much time as is needed to get greenlit, however as perhaps the most famous Netflix show on the planet – it was positioned #2 in the UK on April 6, 2021 – it was consistently suspicious that the decoration would reassess a deficient account.

The start of April has brought a whole heap of new movies to Netflix, including some fantastic academy award-winning and nominated features.

In a statement posted to Netflix’s “See What’s Next” account (now labeled Netflix Queue), Alexa Pina said the following regarding the renewal:

“We’ve spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band. How to put the Professor on the ropess. How to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters. The result is the fifth part of La Casa de Papel. The war reaches its most extreme and savage levels, but it is also the most epic and exciting season.”

Up until the official renewal in August 2020, Alex Pina and his team of writers and directors have repeatedly said several times that there are plans for a fifth part.

In May 2020 shortly after the release of White Lines, Pina spoke to Deadline, and yet again, all but confirmed the future of the series. The article states:

“Season 5 is coming, but Pina could not confirm any further series because “Netflix will put a bomb in my house.””

But we’re still very much treading the unknown in the current climate, so that is the best-case scenario.

Money Heist 5 casts.

Netflix has uncovered who we can hope to find in season five, and some new faces are joining the vigilantes.

Miguel Ángel Silvestre (Sky Rojo, Sense 8) and Patrick Criado (Goya grant chosen one for La gran familia española, Vivir sin permiso) have been affirmed as new increases to the group.

Returning actors also confirmed for the new series include: Úrsula Coberó (Tokyo), Álvaro Morte (The Professor) , Itziar Ituño (Lisbon), Pedro Alonso (Berlín), Miguel Herrán (Rio), Jaime Lorente (Denver), Esther Acebo (Stockholm), Enrique Arce (Arturo), Darko Peric (Helsinki), Hovik Keuchkerian (Bogotá), Luka Peros (Marseille), Belén Cuesta (Manila), Fernando Cayo (Coronel Tamayo), Rodrigo de la Serna (Palermo), Najwa Nimri (Inspector Sierra), and José Manuel Poga (Gandía).

While we wouldn’t expect the latest chapter to premiere this year, 2021 is a real possibility, potentially October, barring any disasters.
