University of St Andrews is offering up to 50 scholarships per year for asylum seekers and refugees for which no tuition fee will be payable. There will also be assistance with living costs through an annual grant paid termly. Students must be able to maintain a satisfactory academic record (as defined by the University’s academic regulations), in order to continue on these scholarships.

To be eligible for this scholarship program, applicants must;
Be applying to University of St Andrews in the academic year 2022/2023
Have been granted refugee status – or are seeking asylum under the 1951 Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees and its 1967 Protocol, or have been issued with humanitarian protection in the UK – and have been living in the UK for 5 years or more prior to starting your course
Be assessed as overseas for tuition fee purposes
Meet all conditions of your offer by stated deadlines
Not hold another major scholarship (one with a total value of £2,500 or above).
To help you with your finances, we will give you a scholarship of up to £5,000 if you are an asylum seeker or have been granted humanitarian protection status in the UK.
Your scholarship will be for each year of your degree programme and is awarded as a reduction in your tuition fees. This means that we will reduce your tuition fee charge by up to £5,000. If you study abroad as part of your degree programme, the tuition fee reduction will apply to the year(s) when you are studying abroad.
